Therapy with Kate
I work with older adolescents, adults, and couples in therapy, and with a variety of people and problem areas.
My approach is integrative, multi-theoretical, and tailored to each client based on their needs and how they work best. I practice from a relational framework and am guided by theories (and studies) showing that the client-therapist relationship is often the main mechanism for change and improvement. In terms of therapy techniques, I draw most from emotion-focused, IFS (internal family systems), ACT (acceptance and commitment), CBT (cognitive-behavioral therapy), attachment and psychodynamic theories.
I see most therapy clients weekly or every other week, and my full fee for therapy is $175/45 minutes, $225/60 minutes, or $300/90 minutes. It is important to me to serve everyone in our community, not only people who can pay this rate. I work with clients and families on an individual basis to determine a sliding scale fee as needed.
Active & Climbing Therapy
I cofounded Psyched to Climb, a service offering integrated climbing and therapy experiences for groups and individuals. Click the button below to learn more about our services and contact me if you are interested climbing therapy.
If you’re interested in integrating movement and therapy, but not into climbing, we can talk about other active therapy options like walking, hiking, or yoga.
Consultation
I consult with other professionals on topics related to Therapeutic Assessment, writing (for clients or other professionals), and specific tests (particularly the NEO, PAI, MMPI, RPAS, and interpersonal circumplex scales).
I also consult with businesses and teams, typically on topics related to personality and group dynamics.
Email me if you’re interested in a consultation.
Therapeutic Assessment (TA)
Therapeutic Assessment (TA) is a bridge between therapy and psychological assessment. Decades of research show that TA can help people understand themselves more accurately and compassionately, and can often help people find new ways of dealing with persistent problems in their lives. You can learn more on the TA website. To the right is a flowchart showing the typical TA process.
In TA, I consider clients co-investigators who bring their expertise on themselves to combine with my expertise on several tests so together we can better understand what’s happening and what can be healed and changed. TA is rooted in clarity, collaboration, compassion, and curiosity.
I mostly do TA with adults and older adolescents; in some cases I work with couples and younger adolescents. Click the buttons below for information sheets for TA with adults and adolescents. The Good Faith Estimate buttons below outline the typical cost of TA with adults and adolescents.
My TA practice is currently full. Email me if you’d like to be placed on my 2025 waitlist.
